Christian Churches Together 2014 Annual Meeting
February 4-7, 2014 – Newark, NJ
The Annual Meeting of Christian Churches Together is a gathering of more than 100 Christian leaders representing most major Christian traditions in the U.S.A. Once a year these leaders gather for prayer, conversation and networking. The goal of the Annual meeting is to bring closer together the follower of Jesus Christ. The meeting is open to official representatives of the participant communions/denominations and organizations. Each Annual Meeting address one main general topic related to the work and mission of the churches.
General Topic: Mass Incarceration: its relationship to race, immigration and the family.
We will be addressing general concerns in the criminal justice system. Which policies or programs are in need of reform? Particularly in relation to racial bias and discrimination, including discrimination related to immigration status. We will also look at the negative effects of incarceration in individual and families.
