Election Day Communion
An initiative is growing among Mennonites and other churches to plan a communion service on election day to underscore our primary and shared allegiance to Jesus.
On November 6, 2012 (Election Day), Christians across the United States will make different choices, using different reasons, hoping for different results. A day that can so easily divide us needs an evening for remembering what unites us. (www.ElectionDayCommunion.org) is a call for Christians to gather for communion while the rest of our nation turns its attention to the outcome of the presidential election.
This simple idea — celebrating communion during the evening of November 6 – has the potential to provide a powerful witness to the one in whom we place our hope.
