An Agenda for the Next Administration
For the Health of the Nation, the NAE’s guide for civic engagement, says, “We engage in public life because God created our first parents in his image and gave them dominion over the earth (Gen. 1:27-28). The responsibilities that emerge from that mandate are many, and in a modern society those responsibilities rightly flow to many different institutions, including governments, families, churches, schools, businesses and labor
unions. Just governance is part of our calling in creation.” Indeed. Because of this calling, we have a responsibility to engage in the political arena in the next four years, and beyond. For this issue of the NAE Insight, evangelical leaders offered their advice in setting an agenda for the next administration particularly related to the seven points in For the Health of the Nation.
