Wheaton College invites applications for the position of Chaplain

Chaplain Position
Wheaton College invites applications for the position of Chaplain.

In summer 2014, Dr. Steve Kellough retires as Chaplain of Wheaton College after serving for 25 years. We invite qualified candidates who may be interested in applying to review the position profile and description for Wheaton’s next Chaplain.

The Process
President Ryken has appointed a search committee composed of Wheaton College faculty, students, and staff who will be working with him in a process of spiritual discernment throughout 2014. The committee will receive completed applications through Friday, August 1, 2014. Interviews with select candidates will take place during the fall semester, and Dr. Ryken prayerfully anticipates appointing his new Chaplain to begin serving by January 2015 at the earliest.

How to Apply
To be considered, we require each applicant to submit an application, resume, answers to three essay questions, and a link to a digital file of 10 minutes of preaching (video preferred). Learn more about how to apply >

Anyone wishing to make a nomination is encouraged to direct potential candidates to this website.

Other Information
We anticipate an unusually large number of applications for the Wheaton Chaplaincy. Until the search has been narrowed to a group of candidates for interviews, we expect to have limited personal contact with applicants. We will not seek references for candidates until the final stages of the process. Thank you for understanding the unique challenges of honoring God in the search process for a position of this profile and influence.

We invite you to pray along with the Wheaton College community that we may glorify God and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the selection of our next Chaplain.
