CCT Annual Forum 2024 Recap
“Come Holy Spirit: ReNew, Restore, and Reconcile”
On October 8-11, 2024, Christians from over 40 U.S. church communions and national organizations convened in Memphis to discern the Holy Spirit’s word for the churches today as they reflected on how the “third person” of the Trinity works through baptism, Eucharist, and discipleship. In light of the 30th anniversary of the Spirit-filled “Memphis Miracle” and first anniversary of the “Asbury Outpouring,” both of which included a concern for repentance and racial reconciliation, the Forum also explored the call to justice in the life of the Spirit and considered how the Holy Spirit continues to work through creation, revelation, and pentecost-like movements as we visited the Civil Rights Museum and prayed at the Mississippi River. We were delighted to welcome three new participant bodies into our membership at the Forum. CCT is grateful for the participation of Orthodox, Catholic, Pentecostal, Evangelical, Mainline Protestant and Historic Black churches as we love, learn, and lead on the way to Beloved Community!
